ClinicalKey Books

Use the same format as print book for the eBooks in ClinicalKey.

The books in ClinicalKey for Nursing are either authored or edited.

If there is no mention of editors, then treat the book as an authored book

To decide if a book is authored or edited look at the “front matter” page.

If editors are mentioned here, treat the book as an edited book.

If the book has editors than refer to examples for  Book - Chapter in an edited book instead.

Each type of book will have a different referencing format:

Eg. Potter & Perry’s Fundamentals of Nursing, 6E. Australian adaptation edited by … (is an edited book)

Eg. Tabbner’s Nursing Care, 8E, , Gabrielle Koutoukidis and Kate Stainton (is an authored book)

Direct quoting in ClinicalKey

Books accessed through ClinicalKey are provided in a webpage format, therefore page numbers are not available when quoting. When quoting from books in ClinicalKey, provide the chapter and section for authored books and just the section for edited books for the in-text citation.
