Acknowledgement of Country

TAFE Queensland acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and respect the continuing connection to land, waters, cultures and family that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples uphold.

We pay respect to Elders past, present and future. We recognise that teaching and learning has taken place on Country for over 60,000 years and two-way learning is an important part of our reconciliation journey.

Cultural Advice

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware this page may contain names of people who have since passed away.

 

The term Indigenous Australian is used in this page and refers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Referencing advice

When referencing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and/or communities always include the following:

  • the Nation or Country and/or language group of the author or community
  • where the Country is located

If information is unavailable, please consider the following:

  • if the author is not known use Unrecorded in place of the author
  • if the work is untitled use Untitled in place of the title

For collaborative works, please consider the following:

  • if the work is a collaboration between Indigenous Australian and non-Indigenous authors, write the name of the Indigenous creator after their Country/Language information.
  • if there are multiple Indigenous Australian authors from different places, write the name of the author after their Country/Language information.
