Social Media for Staff

  • TAFE Queensland staff must abide by the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service and the Working with TAFE: Conduct, Ethics and Performance Policy while using social media privately.

  • Do not disclose trade secrets or intellectual property.

  • Do not make statements about someone that are false & could potentially cause economic consequences.
  • Do not make rude or emotional statements about any of the protected classes (age, sex, race, religion etc) or make/share inappropriate jokes.
  • Do not mix the personal and the professional in ways likely to bring the Institute into disrepute; ensure your content is consistent with the Institute’s values and professional standards.
  • Do not undermine your effectiveness at work.
  • Do not imply TAFE Queensland endorsement of your personal views.
  • Do not disclose confidential information obtained through work.
  • Keep your cool when confronted with a difference of opinion.
