How we can help you

A TAFE Queensland librarian can help by:

  • delivering student orientations and study help sessions.
  • provide advice on copyright and licencing
  • source, select and acquire new materials, in print and electronic form, to support your teaching and student research
  • develop supporting content for Subject Guides. Contact your Learning Services Librarian to find out more, and visit the library home page for a full list of Subject Guides.

To get assistance in any library matter, you can contact:

Orientations

A librarian can attend student orientations and introduce library resources and services.

Library tours

A tour of the library for students covering library services, resources and available support.

Research Skills

Providing students with the knowledge and skills to find quality information fast.

Referencing Skills

Ensuring students are able to reference accurately and consistently.

Library staff are available to assist all current TAFE Queensland staff members with work-related research.

The Learning Services Librarians offer individual and tailored assistance to their teaching teams.

Please ask us if you require assistance with:

  • identifying appropriate library and non-library resources to support educational delivery (e.g. books, journals, DVDs, websites, etc.).
  • provision of general information about various library services.
  • assistance setting up current awareness and alert services (eg. RSS feeds, iGoogle).
  • provision of current information and expert advice about referencing and citation, information literacy and copyright issues.
  • individual instruction in information literacy including search techniques, databases and the library catalogue.
