Getting started with Outlook

Students will receive an email address (studentnumber@tqstudent.edu.au) for the duration of their study at TAFE Queensland. For example, if a student has the student number 479123450, their email address will be 479123450@tqstudent.edu.au.

Students can confirm their address by signing into Office 365 and clicking on their profile dropdown in the top right corner.

Students can also use this studentnumber@tqstudent.edu.au email address to log in to any Office-related product or service (e.g., using the Outlook app on their phone, or installing Office 365 on their personal computer).

They can choose to share this email address with other students or their teacher in order to communicate. They can also use it to redeem student offers or discounts with a wide variety of retailers.

Important: TAFE Queensland will continue to use the email address these students provided at time of enrolment to send important information to them. However, if they wish to use their new student email address for this purpose, they can update their contact details to add the new student email address via the Student Portal.

Students are also able to set up email forwarding on this student address.

Add an email account

When first accessing Outlook you will be directed to a welcome screen. You will need to enter your TAFE email address.

Students can access their mailbox and Office 365 apps while on campus by going to tafeqld.edu.au/office in a web browser on a TAFE Queensland PC.
