How to use the Australian Standards Online/Techstreet database

Changes to Australian Standards Online

From 1 August 2021 there will be two changes to accessing Australian Standards Online through Techstreet on the TAFE Queensland Libraries website.

Change 1 – Create a Techstreet account

You will need to create a Techstreet account to access Australian Standards Online. You will be prompted to create an account when logging into Australian Standards Online via the library.

Standards can then be read in the browser using the Techstreet online view.

Change 2 – Downloading and printing Australian Standards

To download and print from Australian Standards Online from your personal devices you will need to install FileOpen software.

FileOpen will also be required to download and print Standards from a classroom computer.

All educational network computers will have FileOpen installed on the PCs. TAFE Queensland staff can install FileOpen on the administration computers.  Click on the Start button on the bottom left of your computer screen and type in the word “Software”, then left click on the Software Centre icon. Once the Software Centre is open, you can search for FileOpen before selecting the software and installing it.

See the following for help installing FileOpen:

If the standard opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, please right click on the standard from your download and change to Adobe Acrobat DC and apply.

If you need further assistance contact TAFE Queensland Libraries.
